Bylo to téměř před deseti lety, když mi ILLEGAL ILLUSION poslali jejich první dvě alba; dlouhohrající debut Shy(1998) a E.P. kazetu Thread (1996). Okamžitě mě zaujal jejich unikátní, tvrdý a „emocionální“ zvuk. Když vydali své třetí album, E.P. A.M. Diode, v roce 2000; Považoval jsem je za jednu ze skrytých perel v undergroundu. Kapela z České republiky, vedená frontmanem Jiřím Balíkem vydala svou třetí dlouhohrající desku Day Counting, Night Counting v roce 2003. Jejich zvuk je lehce srovnatelný se Smashing Pumpkins, ale je zde něco výjimečného a zvláštního, co je jednoduše nepopsatelné, když se snažíte lidem vysvětlit, jak vlastně znějí. (jaký je jejich zvuk).

Trvalo to 4 roky, a dlouho očekávané nové album, Under the True Color, konečně dorazilo. A.M. Diode bude vždycky mým nejoblíbenějším albem, ale Under the True Color a Day Counting, Night Counting si zachovávají její brilantnost. Tentokrát mi nepřipomínají Smashing Pumpkins, avšak na mysl mi přicházejí angličtí God Machine, při poslechu hudby a vokálů v "The Opposite Paint of the Stone." Je zde pár zvláštních přechodů ("Bandages," "Nobody the Nobody Nothing," and "Adding Zeroes"), ale 7 plných skladeb se skvěle vyvíjí a ukazují ILLEGAL ILLUSION nejfantastičtější, jak kdy byli.

Under the True Color může být těžké najít a objevit. Tato hudba je kreativní a syrová – věřte mi, nikdy jste neslyšeli nic, jako ILLEGAL ILLUSION. Jsou také přístupnější, než si můžete myslet.

It was almost a decade ago when Illegal Illusion sent me their first two albums; 1998's full length debut Shy and the 1996 e.p. cassette Thread. I was immediately interested by their unique, raw and emotional sound. When they released their third album, the e.p. A.M. Diode, in 2000; I thought they were one of the few hidden gems in the underground. The Czech Republic band, led by frontman Jiri Bialik, released their second full length, Day Counting Night Counting in 2003. Their sound is most easily compared to Smashing Pumpkins, but there is something unique and weird that is simply indescribable when trying to tell people about what they sound like.

It's been about four years, but the long awaited new album, Under the True Color, has finally arrived. A.M. Diode will always be my favorite album by Illegal Illusion, but Under the True Color and Day Counting Night Counting have their moments of brilliance. This time I'm not as reminded of Smashing Pumpkins, however England's the God Machine comes to mind when I hear the music and vocals of "The Opposite Paint of the Stone." There are several weird segues ("Bandages," "Nobody the Nobody Nothing," and "Adding Zeroes") but the seven full tracks are well developed and sees Illegal Illusion weirder than ever.

Under the True Color may be hard to find but seek it out. This is music that is creative and raw- trust me you haven't heard anything like Illegal Illusion. They're also more accessible than you might think.
